"Dudeoir" is the sexy photo shoot you never knew you needed

PRESCOTT, AZ - Combine one firefighter, a chainsaw, underwear, suspenders, sexy poses usually reserved for boudoir photos and scenic Prescott, and apparently you get Internet gold.

Prescott photographer Chad Castigliano's photos of a lumberjackish friend have been shared more than 40,000 times in two weeks, though the real number is likely higher. Facebook shut down his page, Chronicker Photography, twice due to the traffic.

It started when Castigliano and his wife, Jasmine, were brainstorming how to raise money for her new nonprofit, a Yavapai County chapter of Books To The Rescue, a program that stocks first responders' vehicles with new books and stuffed animals to give to children in crisis.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office requested packs for all vehicles, a big order that will take $50,000 in fundraising.

Chad had seen "dudeoir" photos online and thought, why not do our own shoot to raise money for your cause?

Enter Tim Wilson, 34, a wildland firefighter and engine captain from Prescott and a generally funny guy. He was the perfect candidate, posing for hot photos that set hearts ablaze.

"I didn’t really know what I was doing. My wife had to help me out with my facial expressions," Wilson said. "I had fun doing it and I’m comfortable with my sexuality. Everybody thinks it's hilarious."

Playing with gender roles

"It looks tongue in cheek, over the top, it kind of looks ridiculous, you know what I mean? But when a woman does it nobody bats an eye. There is a sexist, feminist type of idea behind it," Castigliano said.

Wilson, however, said he didn't have that in mind.

"I was just trying to look sexy," he said, laughing. "I was just trying to copy the pictures my wife showed me."

A message of self-acceptance

The most surprising part of it all have been the comments and private messages, Castigliano said. Many people have commented about how inspiring the photos are.

"We thought it was fun and comedic but there’s a serious side to it when it comes to body shaming," he said.

Wilson said it's about "just being comfortable with yourself, being happy with who you are, and who cares what people think, really? It doesn’t really matter."
